Playlist 7/30-8/5 '07
I am not sure how many people saw the article on the Tron Jubilates in the Robb Report. Thank you Jay Fisher for your totally cool writing and needless to say, Jay is also a totally cool guy. You can link to it via the HWS site.
Even though the article is on the Jubilates, there is an amazing photo of the Tron Syren (still the finest linestage/phono I have ever heard). There seemed to be a slight mix up at Robb, but it's cool and we all are thrilled to be included. My point however, is not the mix up, but the lack of photo credit.
The photograph was taken by a truly gifted artist and a wonderful person named Robert Moore. I spent the afternoon with Robert and Kevin Tellekamp (SRA) yesterday at Robert's studio. Needless to say, Robert created more amazing photos soon to be public.
By the way, Robert has Horning Perikles...

Ok, that's a lot of music. The majority of the records are monos played on the Raven AC/Dynavector 507/Dynavector XV1-S Mono. The stereo records were split between the AC with the Graham Phantom/Dynavector XV1-S stereo and the Raven One/Dynavector 507/Koetsu Jade. The Jade is a beguilling cartridge, full of air and transparency with actual bass and a wonderful top end. This is truly a musically engaging cartridge, one in which, I hope to spend a long time with. Thanks Darren!
I also have to remind myself when I listen to the Raven One that I am listening to the Raven One and not the AC.
As mentioned in the last blog, the One with a new Ortofon 309S/Venice cartridge blew me away and now the Jade on a 507.
I am seriously thinking about just bringing the One to RMAF and not the AC. The One might be "The" table.
