Greetings from bucolic New Jersey where we have the best judges money can buy.
Your playlist is provocative and exquisite -- a welcome impetus to explore the unknown.
Several of your choices reflect for me the integrity of your vision:
- Any friend of Glenn Gould's ("Uncle Glenn" to my small children) is a friend of mine
- Your brilliant choice of the old Columbia recording of Brahms's Horn Trio and Piano Quartet takes me back to my childhood -- one of my very first LPs and one I loved dearly. Can you believe I'd forgotten it?? I shall dig it out as soon as I'm finished writing
- Bravo for including the Julliard's RCA reading of Beethoven Opus 131 -- a much more nuanced and deeply contemplative traversal than the later live -- and to me somehow perfunctory -- Columbia recording.
